Blog Post #2: Research topic with Tentative 10 Sources

The topic of my research is the efficacy of the app Instagram as a vehicle for book reviews on the sales and successes of books, particularly those independently published. There is not much research on this specific topic that has already been done, so I have focused the majority of my research on the importance of book reviews in book sales, and on social media as a marketing tool. Here are my tentative 10 sources:

  1. Since there hasn't been a ton of research done on your topic, I think it will be really interesting to read through the data that you will collect and to see what conclusions you draw from that! I personally haven't seen many book review on Instagram unless I'm following specific accounts geared towards that. I do think social media has a major impact though on the market so I'm excited to see what you are able to bring to attention!

  2. I am excited to review and annotate these tentative 10 sources. I look forward to evaluating them and synthesizing the information in order to build out this unique and innovative research topic. The topics I plan on focusing on are the importance of book/product reviews, social media as a marketing tool, and indie publishing strategies, and I will use the sources that fit these topic best. I may try to find book sources, but I don't know how many of them there would be for this topic. We'll see.
